Note on the Re-edition — Project 00, from 2007 to the Corpus

Note on the translation — This translation re-fixes the source text without displacing its substance. A few terms of the corpus have no obvious equivalent in English; the choices made, and how they are to be read, are set out in the section “Translation choices” at the end of the volume. This translation is not frozen: it will evolve with readers’ feedback and with the improvement of the means of translation. The French version is authoritative.

What This Note Is

The Quality and Activity Management System (SGQA) announces that a substantive rereading of its source is the object of a separate note: here it is. It replaces the old version of this document (Project 00 · v2026), which gave the whole matrix again — supply, making, distribution, inscriptions, indicators — whereas the SGQA now holds it alone and is authoritative. One will therefore no longer find the apparatus here: one will find its dated origin, the rereading that made it possible to re-edit it, and the exact listing of what the re-edition kept, de-dated, or left to the archives.

This note belongs to form: it documents a trajectory, it founds nothing. The substance belongs to the trilogy; the matrix belongs to the SGQA.

The Origin, Dated

In 2007, well before the ontology was formulated, an apparatus called SQA — Système Qualité Artisan (Artisan Quality System) was designed for a craft business in the Tarn (processing and cutting, a few people, several work sites). It was presented in ten presentation files — the business, the processes (supply, making, distribution), traceability, the management of internal flows, production data, the phases — and was taken as far as a trial phase.

Its structuring choices, as the files of 2007 fix them:

The Substantive Rereading — What 2007 Handled without Naming It

The apparatus preceded, in practice, the ontology that today formulates its substance. The re-edition therefore did not plaster a theory onto a tool: it recognized in the tool the ground where the theory germinated, and reformulated it in the language it called for without possessing it. Term by term:

What 2007 did What the corpus says about it
Recording at each stage of the work The act of inscription: the work on the material is accompanied by an inscription, and it is the reread succession of these inscriptions that makes the activity governable
The internal batch DD.MM.YY.NNN The canonical form of the act of inscription: the datum carries its date — its freshness can be read in its very name
The cadence sheets The cadence of a flow of observation: the rhythm of the drawings makes up for the lapse of each one
Basic / complete traceability The chain of traceability, and the reference corpus attached to the datum that circulates
The three flows (product, material, data) Three canals on one and the same real: three regulated readings of one and the same activity
Indicators with tolerances, preventive actions The read indicator: the indicator → action loop, which exists only if a situated reader closes it
SPC, deviating production The freshness of readings: a dashboard that one no longer rereads is a trace, not steering
The presentation files themselves The reader’s share made practicable: presenting the activity so that another can read it

What the Re-edition De-dated

The generic base of the SGQA was obtained by removing from 2007 what was dated: the European approvals specific to the sector of the time became “the requirements specific to the activity”; the vocabulary of the original trade was made generic; the seven phases were kept but de-dated — an order of setting up, not a calendar. Nothing in the skeleton changed: the three processes, the thread of inscriptions, the dated batch, the cadence sheets, the indicators passed through as they were, renamed in the language of the corpus.

What the SGQA Extends

The SGQA takes up this base and carries it beyond 2007: it restores the five phases of evolution that file 60 provided for and that the first re-edition had left aside, and it opens what the local steering of 2007 did not aim at — pooling between structures. For all the rest, a simple rule: the matrix is authoritative in the SGQA. This note duplicates nothing of it; in the event of a gap between a memory of 2007 and the SGQA, it is the SGQA, dated and versioned, that settles.

Status and Archives

This note is form: revisable, dated, without authority over the substance. The ten files of 2007 remain what they are — archives of dated form: one does not correct them, one reads them as the testimony of a practice which, eighteen years before the trilogy, already held that the activity is governed by the reread succession of its inscriptions. The corpus did not invent this conviction; it gave it its reasons.

Note on the re-edition — v0.2.0, July 2026. A proposal to be validated by the author; it succeeds “Project 00 · v2026” (v0.1.1), whose sections duplicated with the SGQA are removed in favour of the reference above.

Translation choices

These notes say how to read the English words that render the terms of the corpus; they are fixed for the whole English translation by the Translation Charter of the Corpus.
